A PIECE OF HEAVEN.
When we were planning our trip, Lofoten Islands were already inspiring us. Gorgeous pictures, rough nature. Lots of photographs treaded upon this ground over the years. Its reputation doesn’t have to be prouved anymore.
We came by ferry. The path were quite long, almost 1 hour. A stormy ocean causing sea sickness to my poor stomach. But well, barely a foot out and these landscapes were already tickling our eyes.
For now, it’s our favorite place in Norway. We’ve been here for 5 days. Maybe it is too much for what you can visit but we’re chilling and enjoying every second.
We did not do the most outstanding hikes. Simply the one to Kvalvika, the hidden beach. 2 hours long.
We also visited the Lofotr Viking Museum. We were a bit disappointed of the whole thing. Still the reconstruction of the Chief house is worth the journey. We learned many things about these great people and we met very interesting people. We could even try some coat of mail reproductions. SO HEAVY!
Vikings inspire so much respect and remain one of the most intriguing civilization today.
You would not imagine how many french people we met at Lofoten. How many camping-cars too.
• Little point we would like to share:
We were badly surprised how parking places and sweet nature corners were filled with garbage! From plastic bottles, pieces of cans and food to household rubbish left on the side of the road. We could not let the dog outside without him taking back some rubbish from nowhere. We did not understand how people could throw their garbage out on nature like that… It really wastes the landscape and our perception of the country. I don’t know if it comes from tourists or the inhabitants. But it is really a shame to do this to a beautiful Earth corner. ;-(
See you soon, still in Norway
